If you plan on lending them to our Repubs, they better be *huge* (or is that hugh?), or you better have enough to go around- me thinks they all need to get a pair!

*Huge* LOLOLOL

I really don't care if the guy is a liberal. I only care if he is deceptive about it and I believe he is deceptive.

I believe if you read Paul's profile (which many people don't know how to, or bother to do), you'll see that he is true to his personal convictions.

I would clarify that to say - our "prominent" senators. those in leadership positions on these key committees. mostly wimps.

{{{"This is a troll. Do what you will. At no time have I attacked him personally,..."

No you have not and yet this poster whines that he is being attacked. This is another dead giveaway that he is a liberal. They perceive any questioning of their motives as a direct attack on themselves. They are perennially and forever offended and in fact live their sorry lives looking under rocks and behind doors for all things for which they may claim to be 'offended'.

PJ O'Rourke described them well in this quote:

"At the core of liberalism is the spoiled child - miserable, as all spoiled children are, unsatisfied, demanding, ill-disciplined, despotic and useless. Liberalism is a philosphy of sniveling brats." -- P.J. O'Rourke}}}

Thanks. Your comments are much appreciated.

No disrespect meant here but you have GOT to be kidding!! Here, wait a minute and I'll fill out my profile to reflect myself as the former King of Siam.

I simply don't know how to do any better than what I said in #1912 and other posts.

1912 was the most cogent argument I've seen in a few years of trying to figure out how to make a Senator talk. You see, it puzzles me too, that this has been going on for four years, and at no time has a Senator been forced to talk, yet there has been an incessant cry to "make the talk."

I like to understand how things work. It's not enough for me, if I ask how does a car work, to have a moving one pointed out to me with a "See, there goes one now!" I want to know HOW the darn thing works. I want to understand it, not just see it. When someone says "Make them talk," I'm just curious as to how.

I haven't seen a "vote or talk" rule. UC controls the amount of debate. UC controls taking a vote. Absent UC to vote, cloture can be called for. But absence of UC to vote doesn't force a Senator to debate.

I also wonder how your scenario would play in practice. Maj leader says, "Okay, you have the floor, talk as long as you want." What if the Min leader said, "We have nothig to say, we don't want to vote." Which is more or less what has been going on. How, from there to make them talk?

oTim Russert is saying that this is going to be fillibustered and it's going to get ugly.

I doubt it. It is one thing to filibuster the judges, which means something to the Dems, and an appointee to the UN. They have already smeared Bolton and delayed his appointment. Trying to block an up or down vote on Bolton will help stiffen the spine on some wavering Reps on the nuclear or constitutional option.

No prob....hate to see older members taking a hit when a newer member hasn't a clue.

Newbie Paul has some interesting opinions. Using "neocon" probably wasn't the smartest. Even though his definition from the Weekly Standard makes the term seem harmless, he must understand that in the current political climate, the use of that term is used by the MSM to label all conservatives as right-wing nutjobs.

But, he got his flaming, he apologized and the issue should be dead.

"You have disrupted this thread for 1600 posts with that crap; take it somewhere else."

Point taken. However I believe you may have me confused with somebody who actually gives a sh*t with what you have to say.

According to the unwritten FreeRepublic rules, you are a newbie too, as am I. You need to get over your problem real or unreal concerning the newbie. If the moderators had wanted him gone, he would have already been outta here.

no argument there. It takes teams to win in football and politics. Not all people are natural leaders. But ordinary people can rise to the occasion and lead when they have to. We need to keep up the pressure on the Congress critters.

You have to give him credit-however grudgingly-the bastard has an uncanny ability to capitalize upon fortuitous political circumstances.

Almost as good as Blajegovich in some ways.

Since I have violated no rules, written or otherwise I feel secure in telling you to pound sand. I have an opinion and I presented it. Had not it twisted the shorts of so many of the sensitive on the forum it would have been forgotten. If my position is grounds for any action by the mods then so be it, it is their forum. I will happily move along to another one. In the meantime it is people like yourself who are keeping the debate alive.

Finally your assertion that being a newbie or a veteran on this forum somehow lends credence to what you say is absurd. If Einstein were alive and visited the forum to pontificate on theories in the world of would you blow him off because he was a "newbie?" And let me save you the effort of responding, no I am not claiming to be on a level with Einstein, at least not in the physics dept.

Did you just hear Baucus quote Kenneth Starr from CBS---that has been showed to be a made up quote?

He was also reading something that Frist supposedly wrote that was talking about unlimited debate---well, what is a floor debate anyway? I would say that not bringing a nominee up for debate is closing off arguement!
