ON CAPITOL HILL Bolton Vote in Committee The Senate Foreign Relations Committee conducts a debate and vote on the nomination of John Bolton as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Chair Richard Lugar (R-IN) and Ranking Member Joseph Biden (D-DE) continue a review of the nominee, based on issues raised at the committee's April 19 business meeting. 10AM-3:30PM ET ON C-SPAN3
All it takes is one more. It's gonna be a LONG five hours.
Exactley the opposite direction Bolton looks when it comes to us. He doesn't care HOW we look to socialist europe.
Damn all the rinos. May they lose their next election.
yeah ,... but WHO needs the short leash??
Yeah, I like Coleman a lot too. He has a somewhat liberal past but he switched sides, quit, ran as a conservative, won, won the senate seat, and he's no RINO. He's a Mensch. He's somebody to look at when we need somebody bad, which we will.
I heard an interview with Allen on Laura this morning. He still sounds good to me.
I agree no filibuster here. But, while I really like Bolton, I think it would be funny to see the dims waste their two ounces of political capital on fighting this one. At the end of the day they would lose, then they would have nothing left when it comes to judicial nominees. I guess we will see.
Let's make that the DISHONORABLE George V. Voinovich.
Is he just saving face? Trying to sound tough but will vote yes at the last minute, (hope, hoping here)?
I hope he will vote him out of committee and then vote NO on the Senate floor.
You're kidding, right?
I need one of the IVs! Voinovich is driving me to commit acts of rage against my trusty computer.
And that's all we need from him.
He's pretty worthless, but compared to Metzenbaum or Glenn it's no contest.
From your lips to God's ear.
Yep... sure sounds like Voinovich is voting NO...
Hes going though a list... "Another reason I don't think John Bolton is not a good choice..."
"Another reason...."
blah blah blah...
Worried that "we need to be getting along with our allies, and this just sends a contradictatory message"
Voinovich also said "To those that say a vote against Bolton is a vote agains UN reform... I SAY NONSENSE"
He's definatly voting against.
gulfcoast6 called it right when he named him Sonovich.
I thought with a tie, Bolton COULDN'T get to the floor?
Am I wrong?
I'm sick of these people acting like they are kings.
If he votes against him, he's denying US the right to even have an up or down vote on him.
Ohhhh .. this is better
Honorable George V. Voinovich
