>> netmilsmom: What was that we were saying of cyber exorcisms<<

When you state that you might be at the Vatican one day, are you studying to be a priest?

I've already taken the role of Anti-Catholic Troll hunter. Perhaps you could be our cyber-exorcist?
Know any prayers to St. Benedict?

I've asked for certain things from God and even though I'm quickly approaching middle age, I still don't know what I'm going to be when I grow up. I like where I am (and hope that my life doesn't need to be "shaken up").

Personally, I wouldn't mind finding a wife and making about 1,000 babies (naturally if possible and by adoption for what we don't achieve by nature). I figure if I had the means, I'd open a Benedictine monastery on the ocean itself (two if possible--1 for the Atlantic and 1 for the Pacific). They could be fisheries and universities...and even a retreat for honeymooners (to make more Catholics :-) so romantic, sigh). St Peter was a fisher and I think that we can learn a lot from his profession. It's also very aggressive in moving the Kingdom of Heaven over the "abyss" and nothing short of invading the Evil One's lair (other than outer space). But that's all cosmic hoo-haw above my understanding (ancient Jewish imagery is very cool stuff).

Here are some prayers to St. Benedict:

Prayer 1:

Admirable Saint and Doctor of Humility, you practiced what you taught, assiduously praying for God's glory and lovingly fulfilling all work for God and the benefit of all human beings. You know the many physical dangers that surround us today, often caused or occasioned by human inventions. Guard us against poisoning of the body as well as of mind and soul, and thus be truly a "Blessed" one for us. Amen.

Prayer 2:

Glorious Saint Benedict, sublime model of virtue, pure vessel of God's grace! Behold me humbly kneeling at your feet. I implore you in your loving kindness to pray for me before the throne of God. To you I have recourse in the dangers that daily surround me. Shield me against my selfishness and my indifference to God and to my neighbor. Inspire me to imitate you in all things. May your blessing be with me always, so that I may see and serve Christ in others and work for His kingdom.

Graciously obtain for me from God those favors and graces which I need so much in the trials, miseries and afflictions of life. Your heart was always full of love, compassion and mercy toward those who were afflicted or troubled in any way. You never dismissed without consolation and assistance anyone who had recourse to you. I therefore invoke your powerful intercession, confident in the hope that you will hear my prayers and obtain for me the special grace and favor I earnestly implore. {mention your petition}

Help me, great Saint Benedict, to live and die as a faithful child of God, to run in the sweetness of His loving will, and to attain the eternal happiness of heaven. Amen.

Prayer 3:

Father, in your goodness grant me the intellect to comprehend you, the perception to discern you, and the reason to appreciate you. In your kindness endow me with the diligence to look for you, the wisdom to discover you, and the spirit to apprehend you. In your graciousness bestow on me a heart to contemplate you, ears to hear you, eyes to see you, and a tongue to speak of you. In your mercy confer on me a conversation pleasing to you, the patience to wait for you, and the perseverance to long for you. Grant me a perfect end - your holy presence. Amen.
