I think he may be one of those folks who think that when a Jew admits that Jesus is the Messiah, he becomes... Mexican, or something. But not Jewish anymore.

There are Jewish atheists, yes; and Jewish everything elses.

But not Jews who admit Jesus is the Messiah (to these folks).

Well, let's get down to it. They aren't Jewish if they're an atheist - they're of Jewish decent. And they're not Jewish if they believe Christ is the messiah - they're Christians or confused.

I respect peoples' beliefs and strongly support the Evangelical movement - but the best word I have for Jews for Jesus is fraud. My own shul and Jewish community was infiltrated by them and cheated out of real bar/bat mitzvahs - and they targeted the children for their proselytizing.

Right, not Jewish anymore. He becomes Christian.

This really isn't that difficult a concept to understand.

That was my thought as well..

I have no argument with Christians who consider themselves Jews, in light of the following:

"A man is not a Jew if he is only one outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a man's praise is not from men, but from God."
