Actually these two clerics didn't issue that Fatwa against Rushdie, it was issued by the regime and they are not involved with the regime. They are both against clerical rule. As are 9 out of the grand ayatollahs in Iran. The clerics running Iran are mostly all lower ranking.

I'm not sure on the fatwa against Bin Laden.
