On another thread [the same subject] I was comparing them as 80-proof vodka vs. 190 proof Everclear grain alcohol. Look at the relative ease and speed of denazification of Germany (or de-fascization of Italy) and compare with the difficulty of decommunization in Russia.

On one level it is a hard comparison to make since Hitler was stopped. What would the world have looked like had he not? That is speculation. But is it hard to believe that the killing machine that was Nazi Germany would not have outdone Stalin? In a time versus killing ratio Hitler was supreme.

Actually, this is the problem. Communism being more dangerous, and less efficient, than nazism made it preferable when it came to selecting who would occupy, organize and operate Russia and Siberia.

This is an area of great natural resources including vast reserves of oil.

If it were in the hands of the Germans, we would probably not have been able to contain them from their ambition of world conquest and domination.

We handily defeated the commies in just over 40 years!
