Read the article - it is far different than the excerpt that the original submitted. The title isn't even accurate.
It may seem implausible to younger FReepers but the Allies did not fight WWII to save the Jews and others targeted by the Nazis. As I recall, world Jewish leaders asked the Allies to bomb the camps and the trains once folks really figured out what the Final Solution entailed by mid war and the Allies refused to divert resources.
We fought the Axis to destroy their hegemony and how it affected us in particular.
Buchannan curiously leaves Japan out of his convoluted logic.
However...I too am glad to see Bush letting the light of day shine on Yalta and FDR (and Hiss)'s betrayals to Uncle Joe.
That ruse has lived long enough. It's nice to see some heat fall on it.
