Interesting Facts
*The State with the highest percentage of people who walk to work: Alaska. Kathy in Alaska uses a horse-drawn covered wagon -- at least that is what MoJo told me.
* The average number of people airborne over the US any given hour: 61,000. Impressive, but that doesn't count those in the UFOs.
*Every day more money is printed for Monopoly than the US Treasury. Monopoly money is legal tender, isn't it?

On this Day in History
1792 While exploring the coastline of the Oregon territory, U.S. Captain Robert Gray discovered and named the Columbia River after his ship the "Columbia Rediviva"; Gray's discovery of the river gave the United States a strong claim to the Oregon Country; it encouraged other American fur traders, who used the Columbia River as a winter haven. By the end of the century these traders controlled the sea otter trade and the presence of the United States was firmly established in the Pacific Northwest, a presence on which the United States would later base its claim to possession. *pictured above is the very difficult to navigate Multnomah Falls

On this Day in History
1960 Israeli soldiers captured Nazi SS officer Adolf Eichmann in Argentina

Hi Ma! I did hard physical labor all day today and worked up a nice sunburn. Didn't you teach me anything about suntan lotion?
Just a couple of very quick posts and then I'm off to bed so that I can get up early and catch up with you and everyone.
