Speaking at a press conference after the Russian-EU summit, Putin said Russia is ready to “wait till our colleagues ripen for the real work and are ready to sign the documents.”

Note this little bit. Such speeches do not come out all of a sudden. It means, that Putin has already discussed his approach with other, *really* important members of EU, and they have no problems with it. So, Poland and Baltics can only cry a lot, not much more.

Slave labor in America, like genocide of Indians, are historical facts nevertheless, just like Kolyma, Katyn, and Gulags. If you dig deep enough, no one comes clean. Time scale doesn't matter.

Perhaps Latvia should unofficially but also non-secretly supports some little Russian breakaway republic like Putin is doing in Georgia and Moldova

Yup, definitely a wave of the future... or present. Too big for Latvia though. And considering the Putin's attitude *after* the summit, not going to happen any time soon.

Obviously, all the respectable gentlemen present would like the Russia to fall back to it's "natural, internationally accepted" borders, which they consider to be a little to the East of Ural mountains, and a little to the North of Arctic Circle. Even more obvious, that this idea of national prosperity is not shared among Russians. Go figure them out.

This is why Russia lose friends, maintain relations with dictators and ignoring human rights of those countries. Belarus will be next for Russia to lose. Let Poland have another buffer state.

While delusions of grandeur are definitely bad for Russia, they are even worse for Poland and Baltics. They are in a position to attack Russia only as long as they are allowed to do so by the West. This may change. In any case, despite what the "New Europe" states might be thinking, they will forever remain "small change buffer states", used by powers to be for this purpose or other. Perhaps, the subconcious realization of this is what angers them so much.
The imperialism has never left Europe, or the world politics. It just changed faces. Brainwashing has nothing to do with it. "Education" is out of the question though, with attitudes to USA prevalent in Russia and Old Europe. In any case, the "New Europe" is not in the position to educate any one.

Whatever the past wrongs, redrawing the internationally accepted borders is dangerous.

Finally, voice of wisdom. The attitude "If they can do it, why not I" would immediately spring into action. Such claims now, when Russia is especially vulnerable, would have no effect but to push the wounded beast into a corner. You know all too well what might happen. Perhaps the border states should calm their appetites towards new territories from Russia. They have enough problems on their own. And I don't remember UN voicing anything about such problems, so these must be accepted.

I also forget something, redrawing maps brings old wounds back and creates serious problems. Problems we should not dealt with it; rather concentrate on something else something more demonic and which should draw our attention to it."

Yet another voice of wisdom, Thank You Very Much. The Baltic states really should concentrate on something more demonic, like resurrection of Nazism in their countries. I wonder, is Estonia proud of the fact that it was the very first country in Europe, before even Germany, that hung a "Judenfrei" tablet on the railroad stations? Heck, no "Old Europe" state, despite being "imperialistic" and stuff, would actually sanction Nazi marches on the streets of their capitals.

I think they already have been. I used to find lots of Iskeriyan/Chechnyan separatist websites hosted from the Baltic states, and during the first Chechnyan war there were lots of mercenaries from there working with the 'rebels'.

Hey nemica, good luck in your next avatar. BTW: Russian for kraut is 'nemka', or are you using the Italian word for 'enemy'? Either way, it fits.

Zot the heck out of here.
