I agree...some of these Repubs..don't know when they
are being borked...the lady from Texas that came out and
accused Bolton of harassing her was....head of
the Texas women against Bush in 2004 election...and
they recruited her to get the job done...shades of
the Thomas..hi-tech lynching . Jake

I know, that is how I pass the time during these long votes, I pick out one or two Senators and just watch who they talk to and what they do---it is so funny, sometimes. I've done that myself. It's like watching grass grow or paint drying. All three equally exciting.

CNN's Judy Woodruff wanted viewers to have both sides of the judicial debate, so this afternoon Republican Hagel and Democrat Ben Nelson, were her guests. And CNN wonders why people don't consider CNN fair and balanced!

For those of us who aren't football savvy...huh? Basically, some people on FR will run with a football(liberal press rumor), think they have a touchdown, but their "touchdown" is nullified becuase of the penalty(the baseless rumor) at the line of scrimmage.

The 7 are the only ones I've been fighting for. I'll print out your list and have a look at them tonight. Thanks. If it's only 7 of 12...that is not all.
I didn't vote for Bush in 2000 and didn't switch parties till March of 2004. Only a couple of those names I recognize.

He mentioned even Janice Brown...I inferred she would also be brought to the floor.... Do you know different? Brown was voted out of committee on April 21. Her nomination is on the Senate's executive calendar as #72.

I have not heard of a schedule for debate and consideration for taking a vote to confirm or deny her nomination. Three other nominees are out of committee and on the Senate's executive calendar. They are:
- William Gerry Myers III (9th Circuit; first nominated May 15, 2003)
- Thomas B. Griffith (D.C. Circuit; first nominated May 10, 2004)
- Priscilla Richman Owen (5th Circuit; first nominated May 9, 2001)
That would mean eight nominees are still in committee.

There were 12 Circuit court nominees. 4 of those 12 have been voted out of committee. There are also a handful of Federal District Court nominees. Unfortunately, the list of nominees maintained by the Judiciary Committee does not reflect change of status, such as being reported out of committee. That being said ...

I just came back from reading the pdf. Does that mean they are dead in committee, or going to be voted on? Grittith, Owen & Brown, I mean.

I posted links to both the Senate Calendar, and the Judiciary Cmmittee summary of nominees. Four judicial nominees are presently on the Senate's Executive Calendar, which means they were voted out of committee. Frist can schedule debate and votes on those four nominees at his liesure.

Lots of moving parts...today...just came across these:
Reid Offers Olive Branch on Bush Nominee
***************************************
Democrats are hoping Reid's offer will help persuade the dozen or so undecided Republicans that they should not support Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist's call to ban judicial filibusters.

What a jerk he appears to be for not getting the matter settled. He's got a tough hand. The dysfunctionality of cloture and filibuster has been dealt with many times in the past, and has been dismantled for select matters, e.g., budget resolutions cannot be filibustered. But presidential nominations can be hung up by a minority of Senators. Go figure. The below link is to a very good article (about 300 kB), but it's a bit tough slogging on the read.

If there are 50 (or more) Senators who think stonewalling a nominee is "okay," then we the people have a remedy at the ballot box.
