Avian flu is a real risk for the future. If I lived in the city, I'd be REALLY concerned about what may be coming.
A couple of years ago, when SARS was a concern, our family made the contingency plans we'd need in case of a genuine pandemic. It was a useful exercise; I think everyone ought to have such plans.
Morning Judith,
My family also has some contingency plans (or Bug Out of Iowa, BOI), but what worries me is the speed this could happen. Get a communicable case in say the O'Hare airport, and it will be all over the US in a day.
One other question for all those here. It is the winter season for those south of the equator now. Is it also the flu season down there?
