Benton Harbor, MI - Between 8 and 9 PM Sunday night, Benton Harbor police received calls of shots fired in a neighbor near the corner of McAllister and May Streets.
Officers responded and found several hundred people who threw bottles and bricks at them.
Police pulled out of the area for their own safety.
Officials say they believe the calls of shot fired were false and were used to draw them into the crowded streets. They also say they now have a plan to deal with such situations.
Benton Harbor Police Chief Samuel Harris says, "We believe this is an orchestrated effort by a group of young people and that their intent is to draw the police into a negative situation. We have a plan. We are prepared for it. We withdrew our vehicles for the moment and we activated our emergency plan.
Police enacted their emergency plan, which enlisted the help of state, county and local police, and cleared the area.
Chief Harris said the majority of the disturbance was caused by juveniles between the ages of 14 and 18.

Benton harbor is also referred to as benton harlem. This is just the beginning of the summer and things will continue to escalate. The unemployment rate in the city is around 50% and is full of gangs and drugs.

People used to do crap like this in NYC in the 70's, call in the FDNY with a false alarm and drop stuff on them from the rooftops. Such thugs should be shot.

Isnt diversity wonderful? The police will solve the problem by just staying out of the neighborhood and let the homies kill each other.

Sounds familiar, don't they have this sort of disturbance almost every summer. No wonder they were ready for it. Obviously 45 years of welfare state restitution haven't accomplished one bit of good. I see it as the failure of a Second Reconstruction this time due to the blunders of the democrats so called War on Poverty.

Police pulled out of the area for their own safety. Yep. The police ain't obligated to protect no one. Exhibit A right here.

The police will solve the problem by just staying out of the neighborhood and let the homies kill each other. A rational response by the police. And as the criminals kill each other and many innocents who are just trying to live there, the liberals will wail and wring their hands over the poor oppressed teenage thugs, and talk about police brutality.
I vote we send all the liberals into that neighborhood to live.
