Freepers would have enjoyed what I saw yesterday at Washington and Lee University.
Undergrads were watching the W&L tennis teams (both the men and women teams) competing in the NCAA Div-III regional tennis championships.
The W&L students were giving a good-natured and witty harrassment to the visiting Emory University team.
I noticed one student in particluar -- he was wearing a red T-shirt with an iconic, black-on-red image on the front.
I recognized that this was the "Che Guevara" design that I've seen before on the internet. But this was different. The face, done in bold black ink in a futurist, Maoist-realist artistic style --was not Che Guevera. No -- instead it was a triumphalist rendition of -- Ronald Reagan!!
What a hoot and a thumb-in-the-eye to college political correctness!!!

Ah, I remember going to the Old South Ball down there when I was just a slip of a girl. They had to import us then.
I'm so happy to see that there are some conservative kids around. My 13 year old is writing a history paper on Reagan. Makes me one proud mamma. And one feeling old--Reagan, history?

Many (most?) of my female friends are young. Well be talking, well Ill be reminiscing, theyll be listening and one will ask, When was that? Ill reply that it was in the 60s or 70s or even the early 80s. The response is often WOW! I wasnt even born yet!
How to make a 59 year old male feel really old.

I saw someone wearing one of those t-shirts around the time Reagan died. They're great!

They should sell ones with an image of Dr. Elias Biscet on them.

I went to the Intstitute adjacent to W&L, and that T-shirt is a good one.

There are also Guevara shirts lampooning the famous solarized (silk-screen) image that have him wearing Mickey Mouse ears...

Although unintentional, they have a way of making me not only feel my age but feel absolutely ancient. One of the older women (39 years old) was born the year I went to Viet Nam. The youngest (19) was born the year I retired from the US Army. I feel like a walking history book at times.
