"More specifically, doesn't it have to be distilled in Bourbon County Kentucky to be considered bourbon?"
Not any more:

"Bourbon does not have to be made in Kentucky unless it is labeled "Kentucky Bourbon". Bourbon must be distilled from a mash containing at least 51 percent corn, and aged a minimum of two years by a law enacted in 1964. The remainder of the mash is corn, rye, wheat, or malted barley. It must be aged in new charred oak barrels which are sold after use to Canada and Scotland."
Another thing I learned about bourbon today!
When I am feeling rich Ill pick up a bottle of Gentleman Jack but when I feel obscenely rich I buy the Single Barrel Jack. Single Barrel is by far the best whiskey I have ever sipped. ??? gulped.
Better
Best!
ROTFLMAO!
Huh? Jack Daniel's isn't bourbon. Is it?

Thanks for the tips. I've been reading about and have heard a lot about Makers Mark. It is supposed to be gooood stuff, but it probably wouldn't appeal to me, since it is said to be on the sweet side. Never did like Southern Comfort for the same reason. Right now I'm a fan of plain old regular Jim Beam. In New Orleans, when you ask for a bourbon and coke (or whatever), they serve Jim Beam. Not bad at all for for a house bourbon. You gotta love that place.
"Best!"
Hooya! That ought to do the trick!
It's not PC anymore, but when I was a kid you could still find a shot glass on the kitchen windowsill of older people. It was common for an old man to have a shot a day. Relaxing, eased body aches, and brightened their outlook. My old grandmother used to drink tablespoons of Geritol about three times a day. It was about 12% alcohol.
Who needs Chemo? Just drink a bottle of Jack Daniels a day. The cancer will be gone, and so will be your liver.
If this is true, I should be in good shape. Hope the whiskey counteracts the cigarettes.
Is that the stuff that's aged for something like 100 years? How's it taste? I've been doing Crown Royal every now and then. Is it better?
I cant handle Southern Comfort either or any of the sweet drinks. When drinking Bourbon and Coke Beam is the best choice but for straight up drinks, nothing (in my opinion) beats Jack.
Now, Glenfiddich on the other hand... that would just be a sign of good taste.
Have no idea. I am male and the Oncologist made no distinction as to alcohol and cancer.
Ah, yes. Jack Daniels. I knew yee well, way back when.
From 1963 when stationed in Japan; thru 1965 while in Hawaii; and VERY WELL, all 66 and half of 67, while in Nam--straight shots with beer chasers.
Just thinking about it now, makes me wobbly. lol
Now, my tastes have migrated to CC and ginger--light on the CC and only a couple a week.
Do like a glass of red wine with din-din, so guess I still get my "antioxidants" and will live to a ripe ol age?
Woo Hoo!
print this out for somebody :-)

George Dickel and I would disagree. ;)
I was a fan of George Dickel before meeting Jack.
