North Korea 'has six nuclear weapons'

(Filed: 09/05/2005)

The United Nations' main nuclear watchdog believes that North Korea has up to six nuclear weapons, its chief said yesterday.

Asked by CNN whether it was its assessment that the North Koreans already had as many as six nuclear bombs, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Mohamed ElBaradei, said: "I think that would be close to our estimation.

"We knew they had the plutonium that could be converted into five or six weapons. We know that they have the delivery system."

According to US intelligence reports, Pyongyang is believed to have two or more crude nuclear bombs.

North Korea declared in February that it had developed nuclear weapons to defend itself from the United States.

Six down and 5,994 more to go...
And you better be able to fire them all at the same time or you're BBQ'd dogmeat, you little creep.

Even if he does fire them simultaneously, he's still 30 minutes or so from this:

I do think that "dear leader" is unstable enough to really do it. N. Korea is falling apart, he might figure he has nothing to lose.

So Kim Jong mentally Ill has six nukes, we have several thousand. I think it's high time we put North Korea back in the Stone Age.

I don't believe it! Jimmy Carter said they didn't have any. And the Nobel committee gave him a peace prize for it, so the story must be a lie! \<\/sarcasm=off\>

Following the Manhattan Engineering District Project example of naming the first two weapons with sly aspersions to the sponsoring country's leaders (Fat Man and Little Boy for Churchill and FDR) they've named them:

1. Bubba
2. Senator Hitlerly
3. Peanut
4. Secretary Halfbright
5. Sandy Burgular
6. The Big Lewinsky

It's a good thing they don't have an evil dictator and weapons of mass destruction.

How in the hell are we going to convince the feds to "put north korea back in the stone age" when we can't even convince them to stop illegals aliens from coming across our borders!

Sadly, I think it is going to take north korea delivering a nuke, and for something horrible perpertrated by one of the illegals on the citizens of the U.S.......but then I am not sure just how horrible it has to be.

We know for sure that 3000 dead in one attack is not enough to cause the U.S. to wage a proper war on the terrorists. So....I guess my main question would be: just what will it take?....10000 dead, 30,000?.....100,000? and a couple of cities gone?

What I do know is that the American offical...we would hope the President...who actually closes the borders, and starts to wage total war on the "terrorists" will be the most absolute hero in American history, and will enjoy 90% approval rating from the American people. The reason that Pres Bush's ratings are going down is that he consistently refuses to close the borders and confront directly North Korea and Iran.

Worry about NK using them offensively.
Worry a great deal more about who NK will give one or more of them to.

Yup. And here, after living my whole life during the Cold War...I thought I may die without seeing a nuclear (ahem) war.
