By the time this story is done, it will turn out to be some hunting rifles, inert training grenades and expended, inert rocket launchers.

Actually, rocket launchers, machine guns and grenades does sound a little unreasonable to this NRA member. I would be very interested to know who the weapons belonged to and their intended purpose.

Hey, if you read the article the problem becomes clear. This guy isn't a criminal, he's an addict. He appears to be addicted to things that go boom, that's a disease, and that makes him a victim. :)

The weapons cache included a rocket-propelled grenade, which is a shoulder-fired weapon that can be used against armored vehicles, as well as assault rifles, hand grenades, flame-throwers and thousands of rounds of ammunition, ATF spokesman Thomas Mangan said in Phoenix. snip
Segal, 40, was arrested Dec. 30 in Worcester, Mass. He was indicted in federal court on charges of being a felon in possession of firearms a .45-caliber machine gun and a 9mm machine gun and unlawful possession of machine guns, according to Christina Sterling, a spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney in Boston. Segal was released Jan. 2 on a $10,000 bond with the condition he turn over the Arizona weapons collection, according to records from U.S. District Court in Worcester, Mass.

"Special offer: Get 3 months of The Arizona Republic

This was a tagline at the end of the Republic story. The Republic, as are other left newspapers, are losing subscribers and are having trouble getting new subscribers.
As a former Arizona Republic carrier, I'm ashamed of the Republic's editorial and news slants.

If See-BS is reporting it, they will try to tie it to the Minute Man Project.

Maybe his collection looked a little like this? As long as the tax is paid on his machineguns, rockets, and whatnot they are perfectly legal to own in Arizona. This collection belongs to Reed Knight, of Knight's Armament Company. They supply the US Military with things like suppressors and precision rifles.
Convicted felons are not allowed to own any firearm, much less machineguns and rockets. After breaking the first law, all the rest are free for criminals.

The article is very Vague. Americans are allowed to own weapons. I'm safe knowing my neighbors do.

These could have been used by terrorists.
Guns are one thing, rocket launchers are something else.

There was a case in Denver a few months ago where authorities freaked over a rocket launcher. It was a inert, disposable fiberglass tube.
The ATF has a history of hyping this kind of discovery. They trot out this stuff for the local news, then a few months later, it comes out that there were no actual explosives, just inert, training grenades and rockets.
The guy who owned this stuff sounded like a collector with a shady past, not a terrorist...
(From the story...)Agents also found antique muzzle loaders and other collectible weapons. Some weapons dated back to World War II and the Korean War.
