I think ten years ago, pulling the 'racist' card on solid anti-illegal alien candidates, could scare off a certain percentage of the electorate, especially moderate conservate GOP types.

That dog don't hunt no more.

My impression is that when the LIBERAL MEDIA invariably starts in again on that in 2006 with that race card and guilt trip and ad hominem against GOOD candidates on this issue, (and again in the 2008 primaries), they are going to be absolutely SHOCKED at the number of backlashing Republicans and Independents, and even many Democrats, who this time will say:

"You know what, I just don't GIVE a sh*t anymore about it. It's out of control. My vote still goes this way."

True. Being called names might have meant something in grammar school, but I think most of us see through all that by now.

What may come as a surprise to them is how many Americans of Hispanic descent will be included in that, especially the ones living in less affluent areas - they're the ones who suffer the most from their wages being depressed and from gangs terrorizing their neighborhoods. This stuff affects everyone, regardless of their political leanings, and things are quickly coming to a head. "Strap in, it's going to be a bumpy ride!"
