Well, the main concern with the NEA, as I see it, is that they are about protecting the jobs of current teachers rathers than figuring out how to get the best teachers from the best univesities with the highest grades and test scores.

I've seen teachers whose SATs when they were in high school were too low to get into the schools that the parents were trying to get their kids into... that's a serious problem.

I would agree it seems to protect a lot of bad teachers...I hate to keep slamming teachers because my kids have had some wonderful teachers...interesting those wonderful teachers were Christian and conservative
