MIAMI - The family of a severely brain-damaged woman who died after her feeding tube was removed in March said Friday they still have not been told where her remains will be laid to rest.
Terri Schiavo's parents and siblings, who waged a lengthy court battle over her end-of-life wishes, said on Fox's "Hannity & Colmes" show that her husband is keeping her remains from them.
"They were supposed to tell us, and we still have not heard from ... Michael Schiavo where Terri's been laid," said Terri Schiavo's brother, Bobby Schindler. "Our family expected this. Michael has disobeyed court orders throughout the ordeal and continues to do so today."
Michael Schiavo is under court order to notify the Schindlers of his plans for a memorial service. He has had his wife cremated and has said her ashes would be buried at a family plot in Pennsylvania.
George Felos, Michael Schiavo's attorney, did not immediately return a call Friday night seeking comment.
Terri Schiavo, 41, died March 31 in a Pinellas Park hospice, 13 days after her feeding tube was removed by court order. She suffered brain damage in 1990 after a chemical imbalance caused her heart to stop.
She left no written instructions in the event she became disabled, and her husband said she never would have wanted to be kept alive in what court-appointed doctors called a persistent vegetative state with no hope of recovery.
The Schindlers, however, doubted she had any such end-of-life wishes. They maintained she would benefit from rehabilitation, despite most doctors saying her condition was irreversible
Terri's remains aren't Terri so this fight is meaningless oneupmanship IMO. That said, the Schindlers should motion the court to have Michael found in contempt unless he lets them know where they are, that shouldn't be too hard. After Terri's mother's actions toward the end I've lost respect for the Shindlers, but I hate Michae.
I couldn't go visit her. I knew I couldn't handle her suffering and I was in soooo much pain myself. They said she cried and cried to die.
When my grandma was dying of congestive heart failure, I'd have to come over and then call the ambulance, eventually taking my turn watching her and taking care of her until we put her in a nursing home.
That was hard because I know what it's like to gasp for breath due to my asthma but I had to do it because we are so few. I could hardly stand to watch the panic in her eyes as she tried to draw air.
It's hard watching someone die, especially when that person is in pain.
I do not condemn Terri's mother because she was having to witness one of the most horrendous deaths possible for her child and there wasn't a thing she could do to even feel like she was alleviating it. She couldn't even moisten her brow or lips with water.
How many family members go to watch one of their loved ones die when their loved one is getting a lethal injection for murder? Some do, some don't.
Please don't condemn Mary Schiavo unless you've walked in her shoes. She doesn't deserve to be condemned.
Please don't be hard on Mrs. Schlinder. None of us has been through what she has. She became physically ill when she saw her daughter at the end. I just cannot imagine having to be in the room with a daughter that was being killed and have to watch her suffer as she did. Think I would have attacked. Nobody is going to tell me my daughter will be killed just because........
Just imagine if it was your daughter. A daughter gets married to a bum, they fight and she is in a coma. The husband wants her dead so she cannot incriminate him......so, now, he has free murder. And, we expect a mother to be able to physically stand there and watch her beg for help from anybody?
God will get vengence for the treatment of Terri.
Sorry about that. sheesssshhhh
You got it. Nobody would want to see their child starved and dehydrated to death when they know they can't even bring them a simple drop of water by order of a court in the United States of America.
i agree!
If I remember right, Bobby and Susanne got kicked out of the room by the cops because of Michael right before she died. I suppose you wanted to have her go through that also, knowing what Michael is?
I found this, but I don't consider it a joke.

That's right they were kicked out, once. Mrs.Schlinder didn't come to her dying child's bedside for days. Her decision was made long before her son was kicked out, therefore it was unrelated. These are just excuses, the simple truth is Mrs.Schlinder's decision was entirely selfish and cruel to her daughter. Michael's inhumanity does not justify Mary's allowing Terri to spend her final days without maternal support. Sometimes doing the right thing means tremendous personal sacrifice, this was one of those times. How can anyone respect Mrs.Schlinder when, after everything she couldn't be there for Terri.
LMAO!
I agree with you - we have to put aside ourselves and do what has to be done. Wish she could have done so. I wonder if she was there some from something that was said on the H&C interview where she mentioned she had to whisper in her ear because the cops were in there with them and would stand close when anyone was near Terri (to be sure no water or comfort given I presume).
Stephen, Paul, John the Baptist. None of them HAD to die. Millions of Christians were murdered shortly after Christianity began by the Romans. God did not decree that all Christians must rise up and stop the Romans from murdering them.
You have no heart. Buzz off. Find another thread to post on.
It is Jeb's fault.
Excuse me? Jesus Freaks? You mean people who believe Jesus is the Son of God and worship him? People like that? I think you need to apologize to an awful lot of people. But I suspect you won't even consider it. Takes letting go of pride and prejudice.
"Yea, walking around the group home with a feeding tube in her"
Hildy,
If you removed your cranium from your nether regions you would realize:
1. There was dispute if it was really PVS or if she was in a minimally-conscious state.
2. If it was the latter--that is if she was aware of her surroundings, she could have been rehabliltated
3. One of her guardian ad litems suggested swallowing therapy for her--SO SHE WOULD NOT NEED THE FEEDING TUBE. Got that? OK. That GAL by the way was removed by Michael Schiavo soon after; I guess thatGAL did not have the lust for Terri's demise that Michael did.
Feel better now? Good.
"God did not decree that all Christians must rise up and stop the Romans from murdering them."
So if I see someone being murdered then, I should not call the police? Since--in your opinion--God doesn't care, then why should I? Strange logic.
