I'll save this for this fall. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it!

Heck, almost anything tastes good deep-fried! Where's that picture of that deep-fried chicken head that turned up in someone's bucket at KFC?

Yeah - can't wait for a time in life when I can have the time to squirrel hunt again. I like to cold smoke them but this recipe sounds great.

Squirrels belong to the order Rodentia

That almost sounds like a cult.

I like your recipe much better than the one I used as a kid; kill it, skin it, gut it, impale it, drop it into fire three times before you find proper roasting heighth. Sprinkle with salt lick. And enjoy.

Every hunter or huntress has several packages of squirrels in the freezer

Not I. The squirrels around here are no bigger than mice.

Squirrel isnt bad if you get it right after its hit and before it gets run over again. After the 2nd hit it isnt much good for anything but soup.

Sounds like Shermy is having trouble controlling the squirrel population around his house. Maybe shermy is not getting mad, just getting even with a few squirrels.

As a city boy who married a country girl, I learned to enjoy squirrel hunting 32 years ago. Our wedding was on Sept 1. In Illinois, that is opening day of squirrel season. That morning found me in the woods with my future (later that afternoon) father-in-law and brother-in-law.
We were all carrying our scoped 22's. Fortunately for me, they approved of the wedding!
Combine pan fried squirrel with fall mushrooms... Eating doesn't get much better!

Gee, the Libs already think that conservatives are all a bunch of rednecks. I can't wait until one of them comes sniffing around and sees this post.
