When buggy horses get too old or feeble, the Amish sell them at auction.

Got any idea what it would cost to keep them around and then bury them?

This is a standard PETA rant with a sentimental coating because they are horsies.
The only differences between horses and cattle is that cattle taste better and are a lot smarter.

I don't have any problem with eating horse, but I wouldn't want to see them penned like cattle waiting slaughter. It bothers me to see cattle that way too, but as you say, horses are smarter. A quick bullet in the head and slaughter them, no problem. That's just me though, what others do is their business.
