If Kofi goes down, I wonder if there will be some push to change UN rules to allow a Secy General to come from the US.
And the way Bush is so friendly to Bubba, I doubt that the US would have any problem with Bubba as Secy General. Ironically, this support of Bush for Clinton would be a big strike against Bubba getting the job. The UN types hate the Bush and the US almost as much as they hate Israel. The hatred of UN elites fro Bush and the US could be what saves us all from having Bill Clinton as Secy General.
Clinton wants Kofi's job.
Can you imagine Hillary as President in 08, and Bill in Kofi's job.
LOL, just imagine Bill as Sec'y General and Bolton as US Ambassador to the UN!
The place wouldn't last two years!
Hallelujah!!
he supposedly is getting p*&^ed about the general notion that he has already exhonerated kofi. (The american meaning of p1$$3d not the british/auzzie one)
LOL!!!
That might be funny to see.
Volcker's news conferece will consist of him having a hissy fit over Parton turning the investigation materials over to congress. Nothing more.
The leftist/globalist/socialist juggarnaut is going to be dealt a jarring blow, so get ready for the screaming, whining, and gnashing of teeth to begin.
That wouldn't suprise me either.
There was an editorial in the WSJ this morning about this issue. The man who resigned from the Volker commission, is being represented by Lanny Davis. If that doesn't send up a red flag for you nothing will. The only ones who benefit from demeaning the Volker report are those who are the target of the investigation. The report is due to be completed in August and secrecy is of the utmost importance to ensure that witnesses continue to feel free to talk. Be very careful what you demand in this investigation because the accusations could be a big red herring, thrown out to distract from the ultimate goal.
think nazgul wail as the beasts head for NY at top speed.
In 1994, for example, John Bolton said, Theres no such thing as the United Nations, saying that If the U.N. secretary building in New York lost 10 stories, it wouldnt make a bit of difference.'
Four years later, he attacked the international body again, saying, many Republicans in Congress - and perhaps a majority - not only do not care about losing the General Assembly vote but actually see it as a make my day outcome.
Indeed, once the vote is lost, and the adverse consequences predicted by the U.N.s supporters begin to occur, this will simply provide further evidence to many why nothing more should be paid to the U.N. system.
LOL!
I'm sure he's willing to move to Asia and take up residence in order to get the spot.
No, Bill will be very satisfied when the new UNSG from China (actually some proxy of China) takes over to usher in our next phase of turning the people's planet into the worker's paradise Bill and Hill used to dream (and laugh) about at college.
From the book "The Real Jimmy Carter", by Steven F. Hayward, he writes "With the prime rate nearing 20 percent and signs that inflation might begin spiraling to Latin American levels, Carter was forced to dismiss Fed Chairman Miller and replace him with Paul Volcker, who immediately jacked up interest rates to curb monetary growth."
I'm not necessarily quibbling with how Volcker handled the Fed Chair job, I just didn't realize he was a Carter admin appointee. But if there are ties between OFF and Carter........
Did we miss the news conference? What was announced? Anything?
Ten minutes until......
I have mixed feelings about Davis. The man is an opportunist first so I'm sure he would lobby hard to represent a high profile client. Secondly, if the information is as damning as some suggest, I'd rather have a known Democrat representing this guy than a known Republican. We don't need another player being accused, by virtue of his political affiliation or leanings, of trying to destroy the UN.
