Thanks for the clarification.
Ever since the story posted three days ago, I could think of nothing other than the convoluted wording of that title.
But thanks to you, all the pieces of my world now fit together.
And I will finally get a good night's sleep.
"Dang. I'm going to have a heck of a time removing this tattoo from my forehead."
I think the mark of the beast is between the ears - everyone of us being born with it. It is the 'mark' of the natural man, and resides in our minds. Letting 'the mind of Christ be in you' is an effective 'mark of the beast' eradicator.
Are you saying you have a complete copy of the Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible? Wow, the only people I know that have one are members of the Community of Christ church.
We use the King James version of the Holy Bible. In order, the four main books of our scriptures are:
Holy Bible
Book of Mormon
Doctrine & Covanants
Pearl of Great Price
I do not have available to me the JST for the verse you quoted. Are you certain it came from the JST of the Holy Bible? Where did you obtain your copy?
Bear in mind that LDS members all carry the KJV of the Bible.
I am saying that the LDS version is the KJV with JST notes. In neither the JST or the LDS version with JST footnotes is there any reference to the MOB being 616.
So, you are saying that we accept the KJV as far as it is translated correctly. You are also saying that you have no idea what the actual text of the JST is.
You might want to read the last several verses of the book of Revelations.
Why don't you quit while you are still behind? Why not quit trying to put words into my mouth, when what comes out of yours makes no sense?
18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast; for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
That IS the JST; the "Inspired Version". Get it? He did NOT change it to 616. Once again, if you want to claim that the article this post is about is correct, and that the Bible was mistranslated to read 666, then Joseph Smith incorrectly translated it himself. So do you still want to maintain that it should read 616 and that Smith was a false prophet who could not correctly translate? That is the box you have put yourself in.
Perhaps a little education is in order. About 90% of Smith's bible is simply a copy of the King James Version. Hmmm, wonder why if that translation is as bad as LDS leaders have claimed it is? Since 1979, the King James Bibles published by the LDS Church have most of the Inspired Version in the footnotes and appendix, and they call it the Joseph Smith Translation or the "JST."
The Revelation verse in question was NOT changed, so since you want to believe this article, then you must believe that Smith messed up. The hilarious thing is that you want to instantly believe that this ancient manuscript is the true translation. OK, fine. Joseph Smith, while not changing this verse, did change hundreds of verses in his "Inspired Version", but not one change can be substantiated by the original manuscripts!
NOT A SINGLE ONE!
So, do you or do you not want to rely on the ancient manuscripts? Yes? No? Hmmm? Better think long and hard before answering that one.
You are claiming that your quote is from the JST. Does that mean you have a copy?
Yes, I do have a copy. Also, as you stated earlier, "Our scriptures are openly published. If you are not computer literate enough to find them, call the Church and a Bible will be delivered to you."
His entire "Inspired Version" is also "openly published" by the LDS and Comm of Christ churches, but DON'T take my word for it, look it up yourself.
HINT: You can find it here:

Just nitpicking :).
Have a good night, tonight.
I didn't read through the replies. I wonder if Romney was mentioned, heh. :-D
Or maybe that the “bible” as we know it was transcribed by a bunch of drunk monks in Europe.
It is easy to follow Christ’s message. Just understand that the details might be just a little off.
