"Food was brought in, in locked containers to prevent any attempt at poisoning. Still, before I gave him his meal, I had to taste it myself. If I didn't drop dead after two minutes, the duty officer allowed the plate into his cell.

I can't understand the rationale behind this. After all the horror Eichmann was responsible for the Israelis would allow an innocent Jew to be his food tester?

It was probably well known in the prison that a guard tested the food, so if someone was considering poisoning, they would be killing their own (at least that's how I would have done it). That being said, this is the second time today I've heard of "Amalek". Any Freepers care to elaborate?
