"Morality." Are ya feeling that kinda pressure? From whom, bucko? Is your pressure coming from a fissure within traditional family values or a sense of guilt from straying or just not knowing? I found that Doing the Next Right Thing, with the next right thing following the last- brought serenity to my troubled heart, mind & soul. Still don't do it very well- it's a hard practice for the first 60 years or so- and my dumb azz only has about 12 days all put together, lol... give it a shot, life is surprisingly longer than our daily experience could dictate...

In saying that what Christians (I am one, BTW, and have been for over 30 years) are "cramming down people's throats" is morality, I'm saying I'm supportive of said cramming. One purpose of statutory laws is to encourage, or in some cases force, people to live in a civil way, to respect the rights of others, and to embody the values of that are respected by the majority in society. The reason this debate is so divisive and heated, not just here but in the general culture, is that a large swath of Americans are hedonists, want to live that way, and not just that, but want our laws to reflect their hedonistic "values." The reason Christians are attempting for "force" morality on people is that some are attempting to force immorality upon our body of laws.

And don't call me "bucko."

I like what you said about "doing the next right thing," Treader.

I am a sinner, but always try to do "the next right thing." My faith is in my HEART, and the only thing that I try and cram down throats is a pie down my own. That, and to teach (pie-cram) my children right from wrong and good from bad, to bring them up through the Church, and to be, above all else, GOOD PEOPLE. And my children are very decent and kind and GOOD...of which I am so VERY damn proud.

And their FAITH is strong...which keeps them strong and loving and decent, and always doing "the next right thing" from their HEARTS.
