The Free Muslims Against Terrorism are proud to announce that on May 14, 2005, Muslims and Middle Easterners of all backgrounds will converge on our nation?s Capital for a rally against terrorism and to support freedom and democracy in the Middle East and the Muslim world. This will be the first rally of its kind in Washington, D.C., that is led by Muslims and Middle Easterners. Join us in sending a message to radical Muslims and supporters of terrorism that we reject them and that we will do all we can to defeat them.

We also want to send a message of hope to the people of the Muslim world and the Middle East who seek freedom, democracy and who reject radical Islam that we are with them and that we will do all we can to support them.

Endorsers This rally is NOT limited to Muslims and Middle Easterners. We request anyone and everyone who supports our message to join us at the rally. We want to send a message to the extremists and terrorists that American Muslims, Christians, Jews and people of all faiths are united against terrorism and extremism. We welcome all endorsers and we ask that you circulate and publish this message to as many groups and people as possible. Help us make history.

TOPICS: Culture/Society; US: District of Columbia; War on Terror
KEYWORDS: freemuslims; islam; muslims; terror
Notably absent from the organizations who endorse this effort are the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Muslim American Society (MAS), and the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), the most vocal groups demanding rights for Muslims. Wonder why they don't endorse this activity?

Interesting. The Canadian woman (a Muslim) who wrote the book The Trouble with Islam Today was on Bill Bennett yesterday. She was fascinating! Among other things, she said that younger Muslims are more moderate and becoming more so--at least the ones in the US and Canada, not so much the ones in Europe where society is more closed to them. She specifically mentioned The Progressive Muslim Union which I had never heard of before. Good news.

Her name is Irshad Manji. I'm reading her book now. It is wonderful.

Wow that is incredible. I am so glad to see this happening. I have been wanting to have them speak up for some time now. And they are finally. I doubt it will help the situation any with the liberals but it makes us that stand proud little taller.

You should also take hope from the fact that this group appears independent from the Islamic equivalent of Jesse Jackson's 'Rainbow Coalition' and those who "claim" to speak for all Muslims in North America. Trash like CAIR, MAS, and ISNA who are nothing but agitators and terrorist front organizations.

Agreed.

Muslims can take a cue from American-Africans (if we're going to use idiotic hyphenated labels, use 'em right). I want agitator groups like CAIR to sit out anti-terrorism marches, because their absence/silence reveals their true agenda.

Muslims in this country will come to realize that they can peacefully practice their faith and still think for themselves without a bunch of decrepit sadistic old perverts known as "mullahs" bullying them around.

So, please CAIR and all you other fascist organizations, just keep sitting out opportunities to put your money where your big mouths are.

When I see an event like this happening, "Better late then never" comes to mind. Absolutely right about CAIR not attending, but considering they helped fund 9/11, I am not surprised.
