I don't know where his father is. He could be dead, or he could have left the mother when she "discovered" she was gay? Did he have no further contact with his son?
If so, he abdicated his duty - or, maybe he is in the picture. But, do you know any courts that would take a boy away from his mother because of an "intolerant, homophobic" fathers rantings?
