"I'm sure we all get the same one."

No we don't. Not until the flap here on FR did I get that mental picture. Because the extremists were INSISTING it was a dirty joke.

Last night I read the joke to my teenager and she thought it was funny. Then I asked her what it meant. She GOT THE JOKE. When I told her what SOME people ASSUMED it meant; she couldn't believe it!!

So, no....most people KNOW it's not dirty. Even KIDS!

You cuold be right. But I don't think so. It is funny to most people because of the male horse's equipment.
However, I don't think it was the most offensive part of the speech.
And, the point is not just whether some of us think this is funny or that is funny. The point (and problem) really is that there are absolutelyl no lines dilineating when and where something might be appropriate. Anything broadcast anywhere is going to be available to virtually anyone (and sometimes shoved in our faces as well). This is really the crux of the problem.

Exactly. I told my husband about the big flap on FR concerning Laura's jokes, and he was gobsmacked!! He watched it with me and we NEVER considered the horse joke in that context.
