Does anyone know if Marburg virus can 'live' long enough in fleas on Dogs to be a vector?

I would more readily suspect beasts of burden, such as mules or donkeys as the carrier long distance, if it is not simply humans doing so.

Local vermin, or those hitchhiking on the animals could extract the virus and pass it on to humans. These animals would be more likely to travel long distances, with one posible exception.

Are ther any migratory birds or bats in the region actively relocating with the seasonal change?

iirc, Birds have been shown to carry West Nile Virus long distances, where mosquitoes do the rest by infecting humans.
