Just found this article posted: http://www.reliefweb.int/rw/RWB.NSF/db900SID/EGUA-6CRN5U?OpenDocument Numbers are all over the place on this one. Article states that 239 people have died in a two month period from Marburg. No matter how I add up the numbers posted elsewhere in articles can I come up with a total that large for only a two month period.
Article also mentions "Some 266 cases of which 244 have been fatal". These low numbers are in the realm of April's figures not May, even though the article is dated May 25, 2005.

For some reason my link doesn't appear to be working, and the site specifically says you can not reproduce the article. I was able to copy the link from my posting here to my web address window and I could still get to the article that way, so hopefully the rest of you can too.

I remember reading some really high figures from a two month period also...makes you wonder who is saying what, and why. The only thing that's clear is that none of the numbers are exactly correct.
I think 2ndreconmarine's method of going with trends is probably as close as we're going to come to accuracy.
