I don't see how they would make anything other than PC garbage on that subject today. If the makers favored the Crusader point of view they would probably become the subject of a fatwa like Salmon Rushdie.

The greatest danger to Islam came not from the Crusaders, but from the Mongols. If the Mameluks had not won the Battle of Ain Jalut and stopped the Mongol invasion that could have been the end.
