India's government and laws are secular, as far as I know.
Yeah, you're right, forgive me - the civilized people of India would never kill a rape victim or her family. I've never read about that. Don't know where I ever got the idea.
And they would never kill a young woman for not being a virgin, just like they would never bury the widow with the body of her husband. India's secular laws and courts don't always get to the scene of the crime on time.
