"Notice that even now, they equate criticism against feminism with hating 'women.' ...old socialist lie that any reasonable person can see through, if you prompt them to keep repeating it. They expose themselves for what they are, in time."Well-said....
They are nothing but stealth viruses and ideological frauds perpetrated upon the GOP.

THIS thread is NOT the thread with the UGLY NASTY posts about Laura. These are mild by comparison. Don't YOU get it? Apparently, you don't get it. I was responding to the fact that people on THIS thread were attacked for thinking Laura made a couple comments that they felt were not appropriate.
Comparing these people to the Taliban was not appropriate. You keep harping about other threads. This was the one I read and took exception to the Taliban comparisons.

Will do, onyx. Although Mr. Peach is listening to Roy Orbison and I just might have to go join him...he's one of my all time favorites.

I wanted to say more but I wanted to go easy on the percentage. What kills me is they use the same ID names all over the web. How stupid is that?
I never say anything because I can't be completely sure and I figure the old time FReepers would smell them out.
Zots and Viking Kitty attacks galore squashing troll after troll and still they keep coming back.

I could be wrong or paranoid but sometimes I feel like about 30% of posters are actual trolls. I track the user names to other websites when I get bored or curious and the attitude is completely changed. You're not wrong. The coup took place a few months ago and wasn't stopped dead in its tracks, despite repeated warnings to the owner of the site.

I kinda think Laura might know a thing about defending herself! After all, George is her husband and Barbara is her MIL. That's pretty good training territory!
To: EdJay
There were just a few little jokes and a little bit of joking about her husband. Most of her speech was loving and respectful towards him. You can tell how much she adores and respects him. My goodness, I never thought a thing about that. I had a very happy marriage for 33 years with my late husband and we teased like that. I respected him and he respected me just as much.

"I've only seen conservatives called 'fundies' by the most radical of Democrats."Note the "code name" for anti-Christians, stealth socialists and secularists.
These are political transvestites.
To: Peach
And a lot of us have been called a lot worse. Nazi. Murderer. Etc. Yes. I know.
FR never used to be like this. I've stated repeatedly for over a month now what I think has happened to FR. And it's a darned shame.
Ironically, it's a case of undermoderating.

"It started with my comment that our First Lady should not be pandering to battleaxe feminists with her public "jokes" about her own husband ("milking" "male" "horses") and going to see men stripping. And that's exactly what she was doing."Good assessment.
To: Thumper1960
In a sense, you are correct. What is thought of Laura by anyone here impacts her little I'm certain. Her self esteem is in her own accmplishments, her Family and her Faith.
However that view fails to take into consideration that without defense, these comments are left without rebuttal and seemingly the view of the Majority rather than minority. It requires some response for that reason alone.
There is room for debate on how long these threads should continue being given any attention before we pass from simply establishing it isn't majority view, to furthering the insanity. In the case of this subject I would say it's probably four days too long.

Undermoderating. LOL
Wanna bet...we'll see that word make Websters Dictionary in another year.

Why wouldn't you say something whenever you want to? We all start out somewhere.
If you make a factual misstatement, somebody will surely be right along to correct you, or help you out; it's worked for years.

#5. Read the book for which Jim Robinson wrote the foreward -- Hillary's Secret War. It details exactly how the opinion shapers on the left come to web sites ilke FR and have been tracked as coming from the DNC and the Washington Post, etc., to come here and try to shape opinion. All under the guise of Christianity and conservatism, of course...Well said.
To: ecurbh; Iscool
LOL your tagline. Did you catch this post?
No...What's silly is you don't think a rancher/farmer/President wanking off a stud horse thinking the milk he's going to get will be good on his cereal is a belittling statement to the President of the United States whether it is a joke or not...Unless that's YOUR lifestyle... 75 posted on 05/03/2005 8:51:42 AM CDT by Iscool (You mess with me, you mess with the WHOLE trailer park!!!)

That book opened my eyes. And it explains a lot of the insanity we're seeing here these last four days.

What I would like, but will never have, given the nature of the internet, is for people to fully understand that we can say we are anything on the internet. But it doesn't mean that's what we are.
