"For all you Mexico lovers and gushers out there basking in the sun at San Miguel de Allende (and other similar places) sipping your cafecito and thinking how "colorful" those wonderful people are..."

Wow! You nailed that one. All our friends are either teachers, professors or musicians (go figure) and they fit that scenario perfectly. I love 'em dearly but they live in la-la land. Mexico was always 1 step away from revolution until they confiscated all the guns and gave them to the corrupt federales.

Yes, that is where I was coming from as well! I had posted sometime back during the elections that some conservative friends of ours decided to break away from the turmoil of the elections and go relax down there and first thing out of the box was some liberal airhead "artiste" bragging about how she had voted absentee TWICE for Kerry.

Well, our friends about had apoplexy over that--not a very relaxing trip as they were hoping for, so we coaxed them to come back to stay with us a bit in Texas and chill out so we could cuss an' fuss together.
