William K. Rashbaum, a prominent New York obstetrician and gynecologist who was a longtime advocate of abortion rights, died yesterday at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia in Manhattan. He was 78 and lived in Manhattan and Cornwall, Conn.
The cause was complications of lung cancer, said his son, William K. Jr.
The chief of family planning services at Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan for many years, Dr. Rashbaum at his death was an attending obstetrician at Beth Israel and an associate clinical professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Rashbaum was one of the few physicians in the country who routinely performed late-term abortions, and for more than three decades this work put him at the center of one of the nation's most highly charged political battlegrounds.
In a profile of Dr. Rashbaum in 2003, Mother Jones magazine called him "one of the pre-eminent and longest-practicing providers of second-trimester abortions in the United States." Dr. Rashbaum also taught the procedure to hundreds of physicians around the country.
William Kohlmann Rashbaum was born in New York City on Sept. 1, 1926. After earning a bachelor's degree in 1948 and a medical degree in 1951, both from New York University, he joined the Manhattan practice of his father, also an obstetrician-gynecologist. The younger Dr. Rashbaum began offering abortions shortly after the procedure was legalized in New York State, in 1970.
Dr. Rashbaum's first marriage, to the former Lynn Phillips, ended in divorce. In addition to his son, a reporter for The New York Times, Dr. Rashbaum is survived by his second wife, Mary Sams; a daughter, Sara Phillips of Manhattan; two stepsons, Jonathan Edelman of Manhattan and David Edelman of McLean, Va.; and three grandchildren.
A former board member of Planned Parenthood of New York City, Dr. Rashbaum was a founder of Physicians for Reproductive Choice and Health. In 1999, he was honored for his work by the reproductive rights project of the New York Civil Liberties Union.
It's like a social club. I'll bet the whole bunch of them are big shots in the Democratic Party too.

Whatever houses I may visit, I will come for the benefit of the sick, remaining free of all intentional injustice, of all mischief and in particular of sexual relations with both female and male persons, be they free or slaves.
What I may see or hear in the course of the treatment or even outside of the treatment in regard to the life of men, which on no account one must spread abroad, I will keep to myself, holding such things shameful to be spoken about.
If I fulfil this oath and do not violate it, may it be granted to me to enjoy life and art, being honored with fame among all men for all time to come; if I transgress it and swear falsely, may the opposite of all this be my lot.

Wow! Has this been amended recently? Or is the whole oath now ignored? (I assume it's not a legally required oath, but I was just curious.)
From this article, Dr. William K. Rashbaum, died with the blood of the unborn on his hand, violating the commandment; THOU SHALT NOT MURDER. He, like many of us, have violated the commandments of God, in thought and deed. For Jesus said that if you even have thoughts of having a woman, you were guilty of adultery.
All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way, but the Lord has laid the iniquity of us all on Him (Jesus) Isaiah 53. Thus the real problem is not that Dr. William had violated the commandment, but that, as far as we can tell from this article, there was no repentance, no turning away from sin, no turning to the Savior.
Dr. William then would face an Almighty God, with his sins still stuck to him. How horrible it would be to face Almighty God with the movie screen in the background showing God's precious unborn being cut to pieces under Dr. William's hands; Every adulterous thought, every sin of pride and ungodliness exposed before the Holiness of Almighty God.
One can only pray, that in the final moments of his life, Dr. William cried out in repentance "Lord Jesus Christ, save me from my sin through your death, I repent!". For the alternative is too ghastly to contemplate.

Too hot and too cold. Besides the Lake of fire, there would be no love, no friendship, no light. Besides the burning and festering of sin "where the worm dieth not", there would be a total absence of the goodness we rely on every day. For the scripture says - as the "rain falls upon the godly and ungodly" every year.
So in that place, if Dr. William were to go there, and I pray anxiously that my fellow man has not, he would be separated from the grace of God that he has known all this lifetime. For before the judgement throne of God, he would also see the acts of God on his behalf - of all his lifetime, yet be unable to repent and unable to enjoy God's love and His kindness anymore. His mouth would be "stopped up" and his soul as "undone".
It is too horrible to contemplate.
