What is the difference between a "very early" and a later abortion? The difference is that, politically, it may be possible to ban abortions in the third and (maybe) second trimesters. It is highly unlikely that such a ban will ever happen for first trimester abortions, however.

I am all in favor of any law reducing abortions, but that does not mean that I think it is okay for some abortions to be legal.
