Did you watch the program? Had you seen previous year's programs? The show is like a celebrity roast and everybody gets zinged. Some years, it's the press, other years, it's the president and most times it's a mix of both. She was not playing to the media or Hollywood, that's the writer's conclusion, she was making fun, which was the purpose of the evening.

Savage has moments of brilliance but then his mental illness takes over and his thinking devolves into nutsville. I listened to him about 3 years ago for maybe a month and decided he was too unstable to spend time with.

It's funny that we can tell those who ever lived on a farm or spent time around horses and those who didn't "get it". LOL

You think that the First Lady was endearing herself to the liberals by telling a joke about the Pres jacking-off a horse? How would that be funny?

It would not, because it is an old agricultural joke, and I'm sure it never entered her mind that some would think that she was telling a masturbation joke in public, because it defies common sense for anyone to think it is a sexual joke.

I have heard it all my life, it teases one who is trying to become a rancher, or farmer, who comes from the city.

It meant he was "caving to the liberals", and his faith was even questioned.

Maybe it just the Internet, but some who complain of being offended probably would not be so vile to the Presidents face, or the first lady.

I suspect Rush Limbaugh knew that some of the material would be offensive to a considerable portion of the conservative audience, including his listener base, and decided not to attend.

Please. Do you listen to Rush? He's done more than his share of double entendre material. Why he spent an entire hour unable to say a person's last name that was something like Ramshaft or some such thing. He is no shrinking violet.

Talking about Mrs. Cheney slipping dollar bills into the thong type attire of male strippers was a bit of a surprise...And revealing to the world or even joking that George can't stay awake long enough to fullfil her sexual needs was also a surprise...

Wonder if George approved ahead of time this, IMO, humiliating revelation...

You're listening to too much Michael Savage. I tuned in yesterday and for over 2 hours all he did was rant and rave about Laura's preformance. He played clip after clip and just tore the President and first lady down. I thought I tuned into Air America.

I missed Rush yesterday, but I was on his website. He came out in favor of the First Lady's speech. So did Wes Pruden of the Washington Times (whose column was also posted on Jewish World Review). NewsMax posted an AP story yesterday without comment, as did Drudge. Christian Broadcasting Network and World Net Daily were silent, as was National Review Online.

I am the type of person that says what I think and in this case I think Laura should have passed on this one.

BTW I have never heard the horse joke.I had noting in my mind about it being filthy just didn't sound right.The liberal were not laughing with Laura they were laughing at her.
