I'm here in Santa Cruz and had a friend try to get me to attend Ward Churchill's appearance last night to make a showing of a Republican presence, but I didn't see any point to it. What is one supposed to do? Point out that 95% of North and South American Indians died of smallpox and that the suggestion that there was an "American Indian genocide" is spurious idiocy of the highest order in the furtherance of nihilist grievance monering? Doubt that would go over well.

I would have felt better if you were there. Not to dispute a so-called atrocity of Native Americans, (Most of his rhetoric has little to do with indians). but to be by my side. Standing up against the "mad hatter" world views of their side. That's all.
