I have known you on this forum for a long time. I know you are sincerely disappointed.
I, however, am not.
Just as I am not going to go on and on about how great she was, I think it behooves those who didn't like the jokes to drop it.
She likely will never speak at another press dinner. The jokes are over and done with.
Just as I was disappointed by the president signing CFR, you are just going to have to be disappointed with these jokes. Look at all the positive things that she has done, anad simply forgive her for not living up to your expectations this one time.
But for goodness sake, don't be aligning yourself with people who call her a "whore."
Goodness no. I don't understand how anyone could do that; I am disappointed about how low this entire thread has sunk. There have been some wonderful comments, well thought out and written, coming from both sides. But there's been too many really awful comments from both sides as well. And yes, I think you say it very well. I don't expect either the president or the first lady to agree with me in all ways (too bad!:) But there is a time when you have to forgive and move on.

Laura Bush is a beautiful person inside and out.
I only have the utmost respect for her. IMO she is the best First Lady we have ever had.
I don't understand why FR has so many weird posters lately.
It seems there is always someone trying to crash a thread and start trouble. Happened to me yesterday. (and some are not newbies either)
