Had the President and Senator Rick Santorum stuck to their principles and supported the pro-life, conservative candidate, Pat Toomey, we would have two conservative Senators from a Northeastern state today

I didn't realize that PA was so conservative that the winner of the Republican primary automatically wins the Senate seat.

Here in Texas, we still have to wait for the general election for the winner to be determined.

Maybe someday Texas will get to be as conservative as PA is...

Pennsylvania is mildly liberal overall, yet Rick Santorum got elected to the US Senate. If Santorum won in spite of the state's political posture, why would Pat Toomey not have won?

As for Texas, it is just about a one party GOP state now on the statewide level. No Democrat has won a statewide race there in ten years. The last Democratic Presidential nominee to carry the Lone Star State was Jimmy Carter, and that was almost 30 years ago.

Your argument does not stand2reason.
