Pontiac needs to get away from the nostril look.
Obviously, the GTO is aimed at serious drivers who are not so concerned about such things as what Car And Driver calls their "Gotta Have It factor." (The GTO beat the Mustang in their head-to-head competition until they applied that 'test.') But, I must admit, when the new GTO arrived, it was a letdown. No wonder Ford profited a billion dollars last quarter while GM lost that amount.
Pfft. Looks like a Sunbird with a 'tude.
" Sorry, but that car just looks boring "
I don't like the Mitsubishi either , just posted because Freedom asked " anyone else Image Google GTO and get interesting Japanese results? ;)"
For a second there I thought you were referring to my Camaro SS ! :)
Heh! THOSE were the days.
I'm sure they will, shortly after BMW does.
Maybe General Motors should just change their name to "Generic".
That is pathetic looking.
That yours? (The car, not the wife...). Sweet!!! I love the Cragar deep-dish wheels. They just don't make vehicles like that these days. But, I'm waiting for the 2007 Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 to come out. It is a throwback to 1967 as well, and packs a 450hp V-8.
That car might have excellent performance characteristics, but calling it a goat is a travesty. Why not just call it what Holden calls it: the Monaro?
Our family had a '66 Mustang auto that would do the same. And, if conditions were just right and no one was looking, from 2nd to 3rd on rare occasions.
I doubt if Mom knew it would do that. . . but I did!
I turned to Mrs. F & asked, "Who in their right mind buys a Mercury Montego?"
You're right-same goes for BMW. Even Lincoln got rid of the meaningless hump on the trunk lid. Traditional styling cues are fine, but if they don't help the overall design, chuck 'em.
Putting the GTO badge on this boring, over-priced, POS is a travesty.
It would seem there is only one person designing cars these days. The thing looks just like every other car to come out of detroit/Japan in the last 10 years.
Now when they come out with a 350+hp V8 shoe-horned into a no-frills coupe for under 12k I might consider the rebirth of the muscle car.
Afraid this 'GTO' is going to fail, bigtime.
Where did Mercury get the idea that the key to success was to look like a wide-eyed Buick? Feh.
girlie-man car alert.
looks like a grand am
