James Atticus Bowden predicted this immediately after the elections. We've seen it happen.

Excellent. I think this is exactly what we'll see.
The religious left is one of the most obnoxious and dangerous parts of this unholy alliance. We need to trash them as much as possible.

Sounds like a new opportunity to combat heresy.

Given the choice between fake-Republicans and real Republicans, the voters will choose real Republicans.
Given the choice between fake-Christians and real Christians, the voters will choose real Christians.

They've been attacking Bible believing churches for years.
They have also been "modernizing" liberal protestant churches at the same time.
Despite their best efforts, the "modern" churches keep failing and closing, and the fundamentalist ones keep growing in membership and grace.
Many of the liberal ones are just living off donations left years ago. They can't support themselves. I always think of the Godly Methodists who left their estates to the church to do God's work- they would cry if they could see what their churches have become.

The left will have a campaign to say real Christians are Marxists and that Christ was a marxist.

Being an adherent of mainline Protestantism, I am always on the lookout for religions that practice tolerance and diversity. In order to find the tolerance I seek, I often have to look far afield from Western traditions. Recently, I have become interested in a sect which I believe may well be the most tolerant religion in the unhappy history of our little planet.
Some of the things that have impressed me about this sect are:
- There is no dress code.
- There are no dietary restrictions, although excessive consumption of alchohol is discouraged.
- This sect appears to embrace every form of artistic expression and every genre of music, incorporating most of them into their worship.
- This sect encourages education and sponsors a considerable number of educational institutions for all ages.
- The sect encourages its members to decide for themselves whether artistic or academic content is offensive. When faced with offensive content, the sect advises its members to avoid providing direct financial support for such content.
- This sect welcomes and treats equally people of all races.
- This sect welcomes and treats equally people of all national origins. Although there are some adherents of this sect in North America, Europe and Australia, the sect seems to be growing most rapidly in Asia, Africa, and Latin & South America.
- Although most adherents to this sect acknowledge certain natural gender roles, male and female adherents of this sect receive identical religious training, mix freely during all religious functions, and fully participate in all parts of worship.
- The sect recognizes no natural religious hierarchy. Local groupings of the sect are governed as participatory democracies with consensus strongly prefered to voting. Local organizations sometimes affiliate themselves with one or more regional, national or international organizations to accomplish larger goals, but such associations are purely voluntary.
- Members who fail to adhere to the sect's behavioral guidelines are disciplined by being gently asked asked to change the behavior. Although members may be denied positions of authority within the sect because of their behavior, no one is asked to leave the group unless their behavior becomes disruptive to others.
- Local organizations who find their beliefs and practices to be at variance with larger associations usually voluntarily form new national associations.
- The sect has a canon of ancient scriptures which they believe to be a truthful description of human events over the last 5000 years. Though scholars vary on precise dating, most of this canon was committed to written form 2000-3000 years ago. Because these writings describe human events from the ancient world, some of these writings describe violent behavior. Without questioning the truthfulness of these writings, theologians within the sect universally condemn any suggestion that the violent behavior should be repeated in our own time, noting that while God has not changed, the way in which people are able to interact with God has changed because of God's actions.
- Although children are beloved by this sect and the nature of their potential is honored with dedication ceremonies, and communal responsibility to oversee the religious instruction of the children, membership in the sect is limited to adults who freely and publicly choose to join.
- While it is difficult to make universal assertions about any faith, it is a fundamental tenet of all branches of this sect that no one may be converted to membership in this sect through threat of force. In over one hundred years since this sect has identified itself as a movement, not one person has been killed, tortured or subjected to economic ruin by the sect because they choose not to join or to leave the sect.
- While many religious groups shun former members, most adherents of this sect prefer to continue associations with former members in the hopes that they may some day freely choose to return.
- This sect encourages members to develop strong friendships both within and outside the sect.
- This sect normally advises its members to comply with all local laws. The only time this sect ever comes into conflict with local authorities is when local authorities restrict their right to worship freely.
- When they are able to participate in secular government, members of this sect generally advocate participatory democracy with decision-making authority granted to local governments whenever possible.
- When they are in positions of authority within secular governments, members of this sect generally make policy decisions which are consistent with their individually held moral and religious beliefs.
- There is no known instance of this sect attempting to seize power by armed force in any nation or region.
I'm sure you'll agree that this group has an impressive record of tolerance and diversity that those of us who grew up being exposed to Western values could learn from. From what I've discovered, I believe I would like to learn more about this strange sect called Fundamentalist Christianity.

Using the language is important and the left excels with linguistic contortions.
Branding Catholics liberals and conservatives is one of the left's tricks. I prefer faithful to the Magisterium or unfaithful to it.
