A Longshot with the way Vermont is, but if the dems have senate seats in the Dakotas of all places, we need to contest em all.

"Hey Mr. Drucker, I heard Mr. Douglas isn't gonna run for Governor."

"Yeah, I think his wife Lisa and Arnold the Pig talked him out of it."

>>Lt. Gov. Brian Dubie

Despite the 'rat-sounding name, he's a Republican. Hmm,
Vt. has gov and lt gov from same party now. One of the states where it's possible for people in those position to be from separate parties. Like in August of 1991 (yes I
looked it up) when (Republican) Gov. Richard Snelling died
suddenly and the office was assumed by his Democratic
governor...Howard Yeaaaaaaaaargh!

Yah, already heard. Bummer.

Oh well. It would be nice if the Lt. Governor could win it, but it's gonna be a longshot.

A Vermont Republican such as Lt. Gov. Dubie may have an advantage because of all of those left-leaning parties in the state. Not only is there a Democrat Party, there's also a fairly large "Progressive Party" and a Green Party, and of course Congressman Bernie Sanders always runs as an Independent. If Sanders remains an independent and the Democrats and maybe one more lefty party nominates a candidate, Dubie could win with a bit over 40% of the vote.

True, but the Dems have basically said they arn't gonna run one, and I don't see any of the other parties drawing off enough votes.

It's still possible, but I think that without Douglas, this is a longshot at best.
