The OP is raising a good point. At this point "hotter" can merely mean "pleasant on the eyes, and not a loon" and the guy is really in a position to trade up. His forgiveness gives him mondo points and makes him totally eligible to any new cutie.
Unless the crazy one is repleat with a bag of dough and he has to factor that into the equation.
