Allen would be an acceptable choice IMO. He's reliably conservative and HIGHLY electable. The list of other conservative governor (current/former) prez candidates who may run is fairly short: Tim Pawlenty, (maybe Huckabee or Barbour, but I don't think much of their suitability as gen elect candidates). Besides that you just have a bunch of "moderates" (Rudy, Hagel et al) and a few good senators (Frist, Brownback).
I'll likely be choosing between Allen and Pawlenty (maybe Frist) when 2007/8 rolls around.
