To: A Balrog of Morgoth

Thank you...I had a sister who spent three months in Japan teaching English before she fled home in horror at what she had seen! A sick, sick country.

I think the Germans could give them a run for their money, especially when it comes to sex and popular culture.

I wonder how accurate an assesment one can make after only three months. I've lived in Tokyo for the past two years. Not sick at all. No panhandlers, hardly any grafitti, teenagers are fairly respectul, low crime rate, virtually no theft. I love it here.

"horror at what she had seen! A sick, sick country."

And what was it she saw? I spent 7.5 months there over a 10 year period and thought it was wonderful, though I felt sorry for the locals, very regimented society. It seems to me regimented societies blow off steam sexually so a flourishing sex trade doesn't surprise me, but human trafficing allegations do to some extent.

Hmmm...I don't like summer humidity, high prices, or tobacco smoke, but other than that, I think it's fine. I live in Kita-Senjyu. I also don't like getting stared at. But I think Japan ROCKS; you hold a door open or give up your seat on the train for a woman, and she's really happy. I love Japan!

I wish I could own a gun, though. Just for fun...
