WASHINGTON - President Bush signed into law Friday legislation renaming the federal courthouse in Sacramento after the late Rep. Robert Matsui.
A date for the renaming ceremony has not been set.
The renaming of the building that Matsui had labored in Congress to authorize and fund is the final federal commemoration of the late congressman, who died unexpectedly on New Year's Day of pneumonia complicated by a rare blood disease. He was 63.
The renaming legislation was sponsored in the House by Reps. John Doolittle, R-Roseville, and Mike Thompson, D-St. Helena, and in the Senate by the state's two Democratic senators, Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein.
"That Bob's colleagues chose to honor him in this way means a great deal to me and my family," said Rep. Doris Matsui, the late congressman's widow who was elected last month to fill his seat.

What a waste of time. It would be interesting to know how many post offices are named after (real) Republican congressmen. Does anyone know?
The federal courthouse in Orange County California is named after Ronald Reagan.
I was scanning through the headlines and thought it said "...naming a Federal Cathouse for Robert Matsui"...
