And there are still plenty of Lefties that vehemently deny that McCarthy was justified in his attempts to awaken America.
Bump.

I don't use to cry that we were betrayed and I generally don't like any victimization. The only lessons for Poles are - spend more money on military, - in international relations count only on yourself. These lessons unfortunately have never been learned.
This part is very interesting.
" "I do not believe in Communism any more than you do, but there is nothing wrong with the Communists in this country. Several of the best friends I have are Communists." As for the Soviet Union, FDR told Congressman Dies: "I look upon Russia as our strongest ally in the years to come. . . . While I do not believe in Communism, Russia is far better off and the world is safer with Russia under Communism than under the Czars. Stalin is a great leader, and although I deplore some of his methods, it is the only way he can safeguard his government." When FDR spoke these words in 1940, Stalin was in a tacit alliance with Hitler under the terms of the Nazi-Soviet Pact of 1939. "
If you replace Stalin and Communism by Putin and Putinism, Hitler by China or Iran etc. you will get what unfortunately many politicians in "the West" think about Russia and colonel Putin.
Before anyone start screaming about my Russophobia I admit that I don't feel too much love for Russians and especially for Russian state, but there isn't anyone more interested in free, democratic and friendly Russia than Poles and other Central and Eastern European nations. Some people support Putin, because they don't believe that Russian society is able to have better politicians and this is the real Russophobia in my opinion.
