Many people may recall my first posting this idea back in February 2003. The nuclear option -- though I would not use that name -- was based on an appreciation for the Republican Party's commendable, though forgotten, heritage of civil rights achievement. Setting the record straight is the purpose of the
Lincoln-Reagan Freedom Foundation. and of
Back to Basics for the Republican Party, a history of the GOP from the Republican point of view.

didn't you know? Everyone on FR has quit the GOP. /sarcasm
Seriously though, thanks for the research :)

You have a wicked sense of humor today. I love it! I've quit the GOP at least three times today alone. LOL

I did some research on the fillibuster and wrote a column on it. If you want to debate the filibuster with a liberal you need to read my column. You will learn things never reported by todays main stream media.
Click here! The called nuclear option was used to create the Fillibuster in 1872
What we today call the Filibuster did not exist before 1872... and it did not get its name until some time later.

Sometimes I rejoin just so I can quit again. I like to make those powerful statements! LOL

This must rank as one of the most bizarre graphics I've ever seen on FR.

This is a great reminder of how valuable Free Republic is. People leave in a huff over this and that sometimes, but Freepers get things done!
Nice work.

I strongly recommend "Back To Basics" for anyone interested in the true history of the Republican Party. Mike Zak does a tremendous and credible job in bringing out the civil rights successes of the party from the Emancipation Proclamation through the Civil Rights Act. The greatest political crime of the past 200 years has been the Democrat theft of this history!

You're gonna get something started around here, Partisan! Good on you. I've used some of your work to both silence and shock people.
