It's the Islamic subjugation of Christians and Jews.

The author of this book, Bat Ye'or, coined the term 'dhimmitude'. The term dhimmi refers to those non-Muslims living in Muslim land, Christians and Jews for example, but could also be Hindus or Buddhists. These people are by definition second-class citizens and must meet other obligations that the general Muslim population would not have to, say, special taxes, or special fees for doing business. Those living thusly would then be in dhimmitude, something the nominally Christian population may have to do if Eurabia comes to be.

There was another excellent review of this book in the latest Weekly Standard, and another in the National Review.

Dhimmitude was a legal status given to non-Muslims living in Islamic lands. Since they were considered inferior to Muslims, dhimmis endured certain legal restrictions, like special taxes, dress codes, no second amendment rights, and other disabilities. In some Muslim countries, it still applies.
